Enjoyment and Entertainment
Drumkilbo is a listed historic building. The house itself is mid 19th century with a 13th century stone spiral staircase at its core. With a large dining room, three reception rooms and a billiard room, it is a wonderful house for entertaining. The house is available on a self-catered basis for your wedding, celebration or corporate event. We are happy to suggest local service providers for your catering, all of whom are renowned for their imaginative use of the delicacies of Scotland's larder, allowing our guests to dine in five-star style at affordable prices. ![]() First Bicycle in Scotland History records that the first two wheeled device in the nature of a bicycle called ' The Dandy Horse ' was introduced into England by Baron von Drais in 1818 and, as David Nairne's velocipede was probably brought back from Paris after his trip abroad with George Kinloch in the summer of 1818, it may well have been the first bicycle in Scotland. David Nairne of Drumkilbo was a young spark and, when rather more merry than usual, he was referred to as ' Kildrumbo ' or ' Drummie '.
